Ricinus communis (

hydrogenated castor oil), is in a w
hite flake form.
It has a melting point of 85-88 degrees Celsius.
Castor wax flakes are used in candle making, and a variety of other products.
It's used as a thickening agent for lotions and creams, and in cosmetic products such as lip balms, body creams,
deodorant sticks,
hair care products,
eye makeup and face foundations.
It is also used i
n
natural insect repellents.
It
is especially good for stick and bar type products.
Castor wax is compatible with most vegetable, mineral and animal-based waxes, along with a variety of natural and synthetic resins, oils, and waxes.
Industrial applications include polished coatings, lubricants and automotive wax,
and coatings and greases where thickening oils are required.
It can be used to create candles, protect wood, leather and textiles, and can be added to beeswax for encaustic painting.
