Description
This globe is the biggest project I ever made. It took me four and half monthsto finish with 20 different turnings. I had to make 3 globes. One for the center so I
could make the globe hollow. Then the globe itself made of of a wood called
Bobingo. The third globe which just fit over the Bobingo had to be cut in half so I
could attach the cut out continents and islands to the inside of the outer globe.
After putting it all together I made a hole in the outer globe where the Pacific
Ocean will be. Then filled the ocean's with blue epoxy. Then I cut the globe in half
at the equator and removed the inside globe. Then added the equator, glued the
globes back together and cut the outside globe away. Then sand and
polish. The globe 12” in
diameter and 2ft tall and weights 16 pounds. The base is made of cotton wood
burro that I burnt with a f racking Machine and filled the burnt area with epoxy. I
did this to other parts also. The woods I used are Ebony, Maple, Bobingo and the
stand holding the globe is Oak with stainless steel wire and epoxy added for
strength.
