Description
Here's a couple of nice pieces of vintage elegant glassware which were made by the Fostoria Glass Company of Moundsville, West Virginia. These are the 10 ounce Footed Tumbler and the 6 ounce Low Sherbet from Fostoria's Blank #6016 stemware line, called 'Wilma' and the etched decoration is Fostoria's "Meadow Rose" (Etch #328); these particular glasses were produced from 1936 until 1975.The footed tumbler is about 5-3/8" tall, about 3-3/16" across the top, and the foot is about 2-1/2" in diameter. The low sherbet is about 4-3/8" tall, about 3-1/2" across the top, and the foot's about 2-3/4" in diameter. I haven't measured the volumes on these, but generally Fostoria's 'listing' showed what the glasses held when filled to the absolute brim, so I'd guess the tumbler has a 'functional capacity' of about 9 ounces, and the sherbet would be about 5 ounces. Both glasses are in nice shape with no damage. I've got way too much of this kind of thing lying around, and can't stop myself from buying more constantly, so these need to find a new home.
