    Description

    The
    GOLDEN EAGLET AWARD
was the highest honor awarded to
only a select group of Girl Scouts
who had earned it, from 1919 through 1939.
This largest size gold filled version would have been issued between 1919 and 1929.
To attain the Golden Eaglet award, girls had to earn a series of badges—completing all the requirements for each badge
and passing a test on each, given by an expert in that particular field.
This early pin design is referred to as the "closed" design. Note the top of the 'S' is connected to the curve of the 'S,'
and the space to the right of the 'G' under the eagle's chin is solid, not open.
gold filled, 1 1/8" x 1 1/8" sized pin—this was the earliest and largest of the Golden Eaglet pins.
