ROMAN NUMERAL, "V"
for FIVE YEARS of GIRL SCOUTING
This little pin is the Roman Numeral V and is equivalent to the Arabic #5.
Roman numerals were used from 1941 to 1953 and then again from
1957 to 1985.
So this pin has to be
at least 24 years old
.
The actual size is ¼ inch and has a little chain to attach to your membership pin.
This numeral guard
denotes years of membership in the Girl Scouts and it is accumulative from childhood to the present.
It is one of the few pins that is official for your uniform.  It can be worn on the tab, directly on your vest or sash, or on the blouse itself.
You cannot purchase this pin at a Girl Scout Store because the
Roman Numerals were discontinued many years ago.
