Description
Here we have one beautiful vintageTraditional Girl Scout Membership Pin
is a
Type 6 pin
. This is a very rare variation; it has the same features as a Type 5 pin that was available from 1940 through 1980
(with 4 Stars, 7 Arrows and 11 Feathers). But this Type 6 pin
dates specifically to
World War II, 1942 through 1945 only
. All available brass was used to produce ammunition, so more and more steel was substituted in the making of these pins as the War went on. As a result, the pins became thinner and they also became
magnetic
because of their steel composition.
You can see that this one is in very good condition, amazing for a pin that's
70+ years old
. This would be a crown jewel for your GS membership pin collection, grab it while you can!
