The Replogle Glencoe Frank Lloyd Wright Desktop Globe is an excellent embodiment of the master architect's distinctive style. The globe's base was adapted from the large brick pedestal Wright designed for Booth Park in Glencoe Illinois circa 1911. It features die-cast top and bottom plates framing a walnut-stained hardwood base. There are thin square layers of wood stacked vertically on the stand giving the globe a dynamic visual scheme. The die-cast semi-meridian features latitudinal calibrations and holds the 12 inch globe 20 inches high. The Replogle globe itself has a raised relief representing earth's rugged topography three dimensionally. The planet's major mountain chains dramatically emerge from the world globe.
The antique-ocean political map features a classic style that matches the sophisticated appeal of the base but also contains completely up to date geographical information. Tiny ships can be found sailing the beige colored oceans illustrating the passages of early explorers. The mild color of waters are accented by multi-colored mosaic of the continents' political boundaries. The Replogle Glencoe Frank Lloyd Wright Desktop Globe is a very fine selection from the bountiful collaboration between the architect's foundation and the American manufacturer. Its timeless appeal and originality of design make it a world globe ideal for an office home library or study.
