The 12" diameter, desktop Livingston Globe is actually two globes in one. With the light off, the earth's physical characteristics and vegetative cover are emphasized by use of color. Forest, grasslands, deserts and ice-covered regions are all there to see. When illuminated, however, a patchwork of pastel colors appear, transforming the Livingston into a political globe, highlighting national and state boundaries. All the while the oceans beam brightly in brilliant blue, revealing undersea features and ocean currents.
This versatile model stands 16" high and features a hardwood base which supports a painted, metal semi-meridian with latitudinal degree markings. The main attraction, however, is the richly-detailed, illuminated, raised-relief ball, which one may surely presume will shine like a beacon of geographical knowledge wherever the Livingston Globe is attractively displayed.
