    Description

Here Is Both A Scott Specialty Album For Japan, As Well As A Minkus Specialty Album For Japan In The Same Lot - Both Covering 1871 Through 1973 .
Why sell both in the same listing ?  The reason is they complement each other big time.  Things are represented in one that are not represented in the other.  Having both really gives one a most complete album set.  I actually have both sets in my collection for that very reason.  That said, this listing is to sell the albums
    - not the stamps.
The binders and pages are prestine, and in both cases it's as close to new old stock as you can get.  The Minkus album is the bettter of the two since the lower portion of the spine on the Scott Specialty is torn as pictured.  That's the only damage.  The gold leafing, outer book graphics and everything else are perfect.  The paper covers are the worst part of the whole thing, as they are torn and worn in places.  The Scott pages have a few hinge remnants, but no major tears, yellowing or toning.  The Minkus pages have a couple of empty Scott mounts, but hear again no tears, yellowing or toning.  The stamps in the Minkus are all mint no hinge.  The number of stamps in the Scott album are roughly 250 with an estimated cat value of .  The stamps in the Minkus album number 263 - with an estimated cat value of .  Both albums look complete.  The back of book in the Minkus has extensive coverage for everything from Manchukuo, Korea, Malaya and China occupation to coverage for the Ryukyu Islands.  The Scott Specialty has an extensive back of book for Semi Postal, Air Mail, Postage Due and more.  Again you have duplication of things represented by having both albums,
but you also have represention for things you can't have without having both albums
.  If your a specialty collector I know I am rpreaching to the choir.  R
est assured this album set has been picked through for high value items.  Please bid on this based on the complete albums, and not the stamps.  That way you'll not be dissappointed.  The hinge remnants are small and obviousley not visable if a stamp was mounted in the square, nor do they obscure the picture. Parts of these albums are no longer available.  I
purchased inventory from a local stamp and coin dealer who has closed his doors, and this material was part of the inventory.
